An excerpt from my book 'THE GOD FACTOR.....'

One day Picasso, (the most famous painter) was passing through a forest. He saw a lizard sitting on a tree. Stopped after looking it and proceed towards it as if wanted to say something. He said looking at the lizard, “You are here in the forest. You are happy! But, I am not!”
Why he was not happy? Even a man like Picasso – so rich and famous, but not happy. Why?
What has happened to man? When all the existence is so ecstatic, what has happened to man?
I love to watch the traffic by standing silently, near the road. I enjoy this because of simple reason that I love to observe humans. When I watch traffic my target of observation is not the traffic but humans running over there. This is only a simple time passing but very valuable. It has helped me a lot to understand the emotions, the turmoil, and the hurry with which the human society is going through. I have never been tried to read the faces but always tried to connect my inner being with those of others and tried to feel their inner being.
I never felt any delight; I never felt any contentment, which was always my search. Whether it is a poor man or rich; walking over his foot or running on a car, doesn’t matter. But I never felt that contentment. All are running, all are chasing, and all are living in future, searching for some treasure in future. I am surprised watching these rich people; even I would say that I haven’t seen any rich person, since the chase is same for poor or rich. Mentally the chase is same.
With the poor it could be understandable that they are not contented, they are hankering for something. But why these rich people are on the same boat, hankering for something? What is the need?
This always surprises me.
But thanks to God. Look at the children. Look at them; I always felt the contentment, the ecstasy in their being. Their whole being expresses that beauty. They are expressing their joy, their life in fullness. Even if you want to see a person beautifully sad; you can see a child. Even their sadness is expressed to its fullness. Look at a child weeping. You will surely rush to make him smile again. You will rush to give him your love. Because, even their sadness is full not empty.
But as they grow up, they forget that ecstasy, they mix up with elderly confusion of human society.
What has happened to man? Buddha has gone, Mahavir has gone, Krishna has gone, but nothing seems to help human. Man is as sad as always was. Even technological and financial growth is not making man contented.
